Battle of Bosworth is a vineyard in McLaren Vale which makes organically grown, single vineyard wines. Located just off the the Shiraz Trail, it is a great place to visit on bicycle, as we did during our visit.
“The wines take their name from the original Battle of Bosworth, fought on Bosworth Field, Leicestershire, England in 1485. Battle of Bosworth make wines with flavour, texture, purity and balance, that best express the unique characteristics of their McLaren Vale foothills site.”

Spring Seed Wine Co. wines are also made at the winery so there are lots of wines to taste here.
During my visit I purchased:
- Best of Vintage, 2011: This wine reveals dark, red fruits on the palate and cedar notes on the nose. One to decant to allow the aroma and favours to open up.
The Cockscomb Cabernet Sauvignon and the ‘Clarence’ Sticky Semillon were also favourites.
