Who is The Nutrition Nomad?

“You don’t need a silver fork to eat good food”

Paul Prudhomme

Hi and thanks for visiting The Nutrition Nomad.

I am Jen-Kui Maxwell, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and nutritionist based in Sydney, Australia. My love affair with food, nutrition, travelling and the great outdoors has brought me to create this blog.

Over the years I have worked in and travelled to some amazing (and sometimes remote) places where food choices can be limited. But that has never stopped me from eating nourishing food. My philosophy is that healthy eating shouldn’t be exclusive. Everyone can attain good nutrition regardless of their budget, location, or cooking facilities.

As an avid hiker and camper, I like to prepare delicious and nutritious meals wherever I am- whether it be with a portable fuel stove on a multi-day hike, on the road in a campervan, travelling overseas or just at home in the kitchen.

I also believe in supporting local producers wherever possible and recognise that some of the best produce is closer than you think.

I hope you can join me on my journey to discover wonderful places, local producers, delicious and easy recipes, and to learn how to ‘Eat Healthily, Eat Locally and Eat Simply.’

Of course, the value of my information is really guided by you, the reader. So drop me a comment at any time as I would love to hear from you.

You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram.
